Today we will explain you how to install Scriptcase and keep an Parallel Installation. This procedure is usefull to v8 and v7 users that want to keep the previous installation and use the new one to test before converting the projects. Also this works for another license, and one installation shouldn’t affect the other.

WARNING: NEVER DELETE THE DIRECTORY WHERE YOU INSTALLED YOUR SCRIPTCASE.

THE PROCEDURES IN THIS TUTORIAL, EXPLAIN HOW TO MANUALLY INSTALL THE SCRIPTCASE.

We recommend to create a backup installation of scriptcase before proceeding the update, in Options->Settings you can perform the backup. Save the .zip file in a local directory, eg: c:backup_scriptcase.zip

Step 1: Download the complete scriptcase version in zip format at the site: http://www.scriptcase.net/download-scriptcase/

Step 2: In a temporary directory eg.:C:/temp, unzip the file, in WINDOWS, click the right button on it, then choose the option “extract here”. A new directory will be created: scripcasexx.xx.xx, with the version number.

Step 3: Rename the directory created (remember that the folder name needs to be different than Scriptcase’s folder), then copy or Cut the directory on the directory where you installed the ScriptCase.

Note: Usually, on WINDOWS system, the ScriptCase is installed on C:/Program Files/Netmake/v7/wwwroot/scriptcase. For LINUX system, the default directory is /opt/NetMake/v7/wwwroot/scriptcase.

Step 4: Access the directory where you installed the ScriptCase, and paste the folder that you cut by the previous step.

Step 5: Access the new ScriptCase using the browser normally, as if you were accessing another Scriptcase, but now you should put the new ScriptCase name:

Example:
http://127.0.0.1:97/new_scriptcase
